Rene Russo is the daughter of Shirley Balocca who was a barmaid who worked in a factory as well as Nino Russo. The birth of her daughter was the 25th of July, 1970 in Burbank California. Rene's father, who was also a sculptor and technician, abandoned the family when Rene was two years old. Rene and Toni were and raised by a sole mother. The father of Rene was Italian roots and her mother was Italian with German-English Irish heritage. Rene suffered from scoliosis during her junior year and was required to wear a torso-length brace. Jolly Green Giant was her name among her friends because of her height. She enrolled in Burroughs High School along with her classmate Ron Howard and even though the brace had been taken off she remained a loner. In a state of disarray with schoolwork and the school social scene Rene was kicked out of school in the tenth grade. A movie theater was one of them, and she received free tickets for film shows. Restaurants where she received free meals. She was sometimes employed at two different places. Her last position she was able to do to make money was full time at an eyeglasses factory inspecting contacts lenses.
